Close (delete) your Nyanyuka account

You can close your account yourself, in the Nyanyuka app, at any time.

How to close it

Open the Nyanyuka app and sign in.
Go to Me → Close my account.
The app shows anything you need to finish first: money you can still withdraw, a chama or shares.
Confirm with your PIN.

Can't use the app? Call Nyanyuka support from the phone number of your account and we will help you.

Your money

Withdraw your Savings and Referral money to M-Pesa first (Savings → Withdraw), with the usual limits and fee.
An amount too small to withdraw stays in the closed account, and so does the membership credit you got when you joined (it is not cash). Both come back if you reopen.
Referral rewards still on hold when you close are given up.

What happens to your data

You can no longer sign in, and every phone is signed out. You stop receiving messages from us.
Your account record, transactions and identity check are kept, as financial services must keep them, and are not used for anything else.
You can reopen the same account later by signing in on the app with the same number: your history and referrals come back.
